FPA of Baton Rouge Scholarship
With the purpose of helping future financial planners, the Financial Planning Association of Baton Rouge has established a scholarship program to assist recipients in becoming a Certified Financial Planner?. This scholarship will provide the study materials needed for the five exams required to fulfill the educational requirements for the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. (CFP Board) Certification Examination. Insurance Achievement (Baton Rouge?s nationally known learning program provider) will be the provider of the study materials for all five exams.
Requirements for Applicants:
- Member or Student Member of the Financial Planning association at the time of scholarship award.
- Intention to take all required courses for the CFP? Board of Standards certificate examinations and become a CFP? designee.
- Demonstrates academic and/or professional accomplishments: i.e. GPA, degrees received, work experience in the financial or investment planning profession, etc.
- Furnish two letters of support (preferably from either professors or practicing CFP? professionals)

Terms of Scholarship:
- Remain in good standing as a Member or Student Member of the Financial Planning Association
- Successfully pass one of the five required exams in four month period.
- Scholarship recipients must serve on board of directors and maintain active member or student member status
- At the end of a four-month period, and contingent upon the successful completion of the previous exam, the recipient will receive study material for their next exam. If the recipient does not successfully complete the exam in the time allotted, their scholarship will be revoked.
